It started Late. Growing up with my brother's classic and party rock records, I always assumed that rock-&-roll was the province of debaucherous English superstars and shirtless Majesty-of-Rock stadium bands. But in high school, when a friend played the first four bars of "Stairway To Heaven" on a crappy acoustic, the epiphany hit. Rock could be played by any aimless Midwestern teenager! From then on it was total immersion in all things guitar. Grades dropped, hair grew long, parents fretted, and the girls took notice. Countless bands followed, and the styles were ranging: Garage Slop, Aimless Jamoramma, Inebriated Blues, Southern Fried, Dance Pop, Folkaholic, Country, and Misunderstood Space Rock.

Moving to Austin, TX and working up through the ranks to the A-clubs and the pro tour circuit cemented my commitment to the work ethic of a touring musician. Practices became serious rehersals, gear setup became a science, stage moves were honed, and gigs were now performances. Studio session work solidified my technical proficiency of music and the live shows allowed me to explore the visceral nature of Rock as performance art.

Moving back to the Midwest in '95 gave me the opportunity to revisit my musical roots and allowed me to hook up with Sequoia Drive. With all the guys pooling their professionalism and their love of raccus live shows, I believe we can help inspire a new generation of aimless Midwestern teenagers to pick up their guitars and keep the flame alive.
Rock at all costs!
