I received my first guitar at the age of nine. Immediately, I wanted to be
a singer and play the guitar. But my hopes were drowned as I could not afford
lessons to learn how to play. I Tried several times on my own, but did not have
the patience. I placed the guitar in the closet in hopes that some day I would
learn to play. Shortly after, I moved to live with my mom, as my parents were
divorced, and I forgot all about my guitar. At age 14, I found a old Electric
Les Paul and power amp in My stepdad's house that had not been used in a long
time. I started again to learn how to play but found it hard to focus on playing
as girls were now coming into the picture. My Fame and fortune would have to
wait.
I got my big break after Graduating High School. I had some friends that wanted
to start a band. Everyone except me had experience so I had to learn to play
something fast. They needed a Bass player, so I picked up the bass and started
thumping around on it. They showed me a few chords and from there I began to
learn on my own.
Since then, I have played in several bands, both Rock and Country, and had the
opportunity to open up for the band Kansas. Playing for Sequoia Drive has been
my biggest accomplishment yet. All the guys in the band have their own unique
talent which brings excitment and fun for both the band and our fans. Fame and
Fortune would be nice, but as long as I am doing what I love, playing and singing
Country Music, I have more than enough to satisfy me.
